The game loop
Fish it. Shoot it. Sell it. Upgrade.
Regular catches pay for stronger rods, weapons and boat upgrades. Quests and boss hand-ins open the next islands.
Use normal fish to build cash for the next gear tier.
NPC hand-ins give you boss bait and new island coordinates.
A strange catch may be the bait or hand-in for the next fight.
Playing on this patch
Updated for Patch 1.1.3
Patch 1.1.3 now reveals a fish's bait in Fishipedia after your first kill. The new Crab Carcass pool is also in the tools: Alaska Pollock, Tench, Char, Amberjack, Squid, Mahi-Mahi, Starfish and Sponge.
