The complete Mutated Bowhead Whale route
- 01 · Build the trigger
Complete the Bowhead Whale route
Earn the Fish Bucket, defeat the regular whale and preserve its entire body.
- 02 · Final check
Restock before climbing the volcano
Fill ammunition and healing, equip your best upgraded weapon, and clear your hotbar before the trigger.
- 03 · Summon
Throw Bowhead Whale into the crater
The mutation event starts immediately. Move away from the crater and establish a clean arena loop.
- 04 · Finish
Return the Whale Fin
After the kill, take the unique Fin to the scientist. He gives you the military boat key that leads to the ending.
The fight
Turn the arena into your shield
Pufferfish wins when you stop moving. Your job is to keep clean sand ahead of you and a palm trunk between each charge.
Cross the ground charge
Strafe across its movement instead of running straight down the same line.
Treat lava as a wall
Do not chase damage through fresh lava patches; rotate onto clean ground.
Explosives now count on the tail
Patch 1.0.12 fixed explosive hits that landed on the tail. Use them during a safe recovery window, not while standing in the landing zone.
Punish the recovery
Use the pause after a charge or body slam for sustained fire, then resume movement.
Fix the failed run
What went wrong?
Use the symptom, make one correction, and go again.
The final boss never appears
Use the defeated Bowhead Whale body, carry it to the crater, and drop it into the lava.
The landing kills you
Sprint as soon as the whale rises and do not stop to shoot until impact is over.
Lava closes the arena
Rotate early onto clean ground and stop following the boss through its own hazard trail.
Credits do not start
Pick up the Whale Fin, return it to the scientist, and use the military boat key.
